Indian Head Massage

Effective for Stress

Indian Head Massage is extremely effective for treating stress and stress-related disorders as it focuses on reducing tension in the areas of the body most affected by stress - namely the shoulders, upper back, neck and head. However, the positive effects of the treatment can be felt

throughout the whole body and mind, inducing a deep state of relaxation and leaving you feeling refreshed and revitalised.

Swedish massage techniques and pressure point stimulation are used to bring about numerous benefits which include the relief of headaches, migraines, sinus problems, insomnia, anxiety and depression as well as relieving muscular related problems in the back, neck & shoulders.

Relieving Physical Tension caused by Stress

Physical problems can be caused by mental tension (e.g. when we are stressed we may tighten our shoulders, clench our jaw or take shallow 'chest' breaths) and also by postural imbalances such as hunching our shoulders, over extending our necks while sat a desk or bending our backs instead of our knees when lifting and moving objects, picking up children etc. Often one problem area or imbalance can exacerbate another.

An Indian Head massage typically lasts for 30 minutes and can be adapted to suit each individual's needs and preferences, focusing for a longer amount of time on any specific problem area as required. You will remain fully clothed throughout the treatment and will be seated in a comfortable, low back chair to allow easy access to the upper back & shoulders. Oil is rarely used in this massage as it is delivered through clothing.
